Summer Wrap Up

Image
We are officially into the Fall season around here, but before things turned chilly, Paige and I had a slew of outside activities to enjoy the last of the sunshine. Besides daily trips to our favorite parks, we made some special trips, too. Here are some pics to enjoy! Paige and friend Madelyn at the zoo. We even got Madelyn to sit in the wagon with Paige this time! I love the zoo when school is back in and the place is so quiet...we actually use our membership again! Paige has been asking to visit the temple for quite some time. We finally made a special trip and enjoyed the beautiful grounds. Paige wanted to swim in the front fountains, but I had to convince her to stay dry. She played on these statues for such a long time! She said this girl was her "little sister"... And this was her dad...She even sang the "I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home" song to him and climbed on his lap and gave him a "Great Big Kiss" to go right along with the wo...

Look Ma! No Cavities!!

Paige visited the dentist for the first time last week. I couldn't decide whether to have her see our family dentist or a Pediatric Dentist, but am pleased I chose the latter. The Pediatric Dentist office is like Disneyland for cleaning teeth. Paige ended up being an EXCELLENT patient! She even let the hygenist polish all her teeth with the "tickle" brush. The dentist wasn't worried about her fused teeth nor her geographic tongue (phew). Paige walked out with about ten giant stickers on her shirt, a balloon animal the dentist made for her, a toy from the machine, and a GIANT smile. I am glad it was a good experience...considering our health history, she'll be seeing lots of the dentist and orthodontist throughout her life!

A weekend at HOME

I know I'm slow...but it took me ALL day to clean our blinds. The process of taking each one down and outside, washing, drying, and replacing was quite a conquest for me. But they look F A B U L O U S! Next step is windows and I bought all the stuff I need to do those inside and out (no worries...Chris will be on the ladder cleaning them on the outside!). This will start Monday. While I did the blinds, Chris put in the ceiling fan in our Master Bedroom. Just a few projects to cross off the list... Can you tell I'm nesting!!

Oh yeah...an anniversary!

Seven-year itch...we survived! Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband! With our schedule as of late, I hope we get a few minutes together today! There are so many things I appreciate about my husband. What other number-crunching accountant can rebuild a computer? Or patiently teach his wife all about sports so she can put any other typical wife to shame with her plethora of knowledge! Yes, folks, go ahead, ask me which teams are in the American League vs. the National League...or when the pitchers/catchers report to spring training...or can spot an offensive hold like nobody's business. There is no other husband in the world that will vacuum for his wife and get the "lines" looking nice and neat. What would I do without my man-ly man? He can actually fix things: cars, fridges, sinks, toilets, etc. And have you heard his voice??? I still love how deep it sounds. But for being the manly man he is, I love that our daughter melts his heart. What other die-hard guy will ...

Our lives have been quite hectic over the last month. Next week is Stake Conference in our ward and by the time we attend our regular meetings the week after, it will have been five weeks since we've attended our home ward...I think that puts us on a "less-active" list, which is never a good thing! :) I should be in bed tonight - I'm exhausted - But I am trying the "Super Nanny" method of keeping Paige in her room, which means I'm still up and have already put her back in her bed about 20 times. While away this weekend, we ended up strapping her into her carseat in our room (after two hours of battling), which worked, but seems slightly torturous to do every night. As of now, she's slowing her repeat attempts out of the room, so maybe it's working. I decided this is my current #1 priority; I have to figure this out ASAP. The anxiety over her bedtime routine (which sometimes takes 2-3 hours) gives me contractions and makes my heart race. And in le...

In Memory

Just one month before her passing at the Sacramento LDS temple: Grandma with granddaughter Joci, great-granddaughter Paige and great-grandson Grant Making Paige smile and giggle...and could never hold back herself. This was the summer of '06. Grandpa and Grandma at their 50th wedding anniversary celebration - October 2006 - Paige shares her birthday with their anniversary We will miss our Grandma Hendricks. I've never known another woman with her spunk for life, desire for health, faithful testimony, and an activity level that would exhaust a marathon runner. This woman was still water skiing last summer! She was a night owl and an early riser...there were never enough hours in the day to suffice her. Over the past few weeks, Chris and I have reflected often on her life and influence. Chris is the oldest grandson and lived down the street from her during his childhood years. He can remember being at her house almost as much as his own. And when we were married and attending c...
