Ringing in 2020

While Paige partied at the church dance, we celebrated at home check-list style with activities to complete before the midnight hour arrived.  We had a lovely time! The girls rocked the midnight toast and we closed the chapter on a great 2019.

Christmas Eve

Image
We loved having my parents for Christmas this year. The cherry on top was that Erin, Jonni and Covey joined too! We loved having them stay a few nights and soak in that cute cute baby boy. Christmas Eve morning we enjoyed breakfast at Mt Si Golf Course and then a bucket of balls. It was quite cool, but the sun was out and it was gorgeous! We came back to the house and had lots on the schedule for the day! We started with decorating cookies for Santa. Puzzle time! We had a huge Disney puzzle to complete! Grandma whipped up some yummy rolls for Cmas dinner. And then we moved into the evening festivities. The annual snowball marshmallow fight--safety first with protective eyewear for mom and dad. ;) Hot cocoa snowmen And then our Nativity program. Every year it is awesome. Mary and her baby were pretty dang cute. And of course, Christmas Eve pajamas!!!

Thanksgiving in Canada

Image
In early November when we didn't have any solid Thanksgiving plans, we decided our family needed a break from life together and opted for an adventure in Victoria, B.C. for the long weekend. The day we boarded the ferry it was soooo windy and I was having regrets about this decision. The waves were so high they were crashing onto the platform we used to drive on to the ferry. I was a bit nervous (on the inside), but put on a brave face for the kids. Once we got inside the ferry, people were sick everywhere . You didn't even want to be in the bathroom for fear of being sick just from the sounds of other people being sick (gross....). Good thing our family doesn't really battle motion sickness...and once we were moving I felt a little more at ease. The younger three girls and I were the only ones that ventured to the outer decks. That wind was sooo wild out on the ocean seas. Meg literally got blown over a few times. But the bonus is there were no sick people out there.  Haha...
