Hood to Coast - Family Style

Image
2010 marks year #2 Chris has participated in the Hood to Coast relay race. This year was unique for a number of reasons:   (1) Chris' company was one of the title sponsors of the event, which if you knew what's been going on with Chris' company the last six months, this is actually kind of "funny." In the end, the team was cleared to race, but not without stress on the part of Chris (negotiating between MTR and H2C) and Trevor (managing the race team). (2)  Chris was running with A-MAZING runners. Trevor put together a team of his racing buddies...and man, these guys can run. (3) All the Dalley "boys" were on the same team: Bryce (my brother), Chris, and Trevor (my sister's husband).  It was a family affair! The wives (me, my sis, and SIL) met up with the team close to midnight to watch the start of their race. Here are the brothers at the beginning. We saw Chris start his first leg and pass off to Trev and then saw Trev finish leg #1. We didn...

The Hendricks Fam --- To the Beach!

We enjoyed a wonderful Hendricks family reunion in Lincoln City, OR in the middle of August. We enjoyed five full days of activities and fun...although now that I'm so behind on my blog I can't remember which days we did what???....I might have some of it mixed up. Chris ended up working a significant amount of time remotely while we were there, so I was grateful for aunts/uncles, grandparents, siblings, cousins, to help with my kids.  DAY 1: A day of sunshine .  At the Oregon Coast, you don't pass it up.  Across the street to the beach we headed! (I was still freezing). Brynn and Aunt Jana!  We LOVE Aunt Jana.  She is the greatest.  My girls adore her! Paige tried her skills at the skim board...very tricky! These girls are best buds! Paige and Joci. Do they look cold??? DAY 3 (I think?!): Craft Day .  The men were golfing. We entertained the kids with necklaces, play-doh, and the older cousins painted the little girls' toes and nails. So fun! ...

I'm way behind on my blogging. Let's just say our family has been thrown a few too many curve balls over the last few months. But today marks our nine-year wedding anniversary, and I didn't want to overlook it. It's the reason we have been able to survive these last few months. Our commitment is strong and we know we're in it together no matter what.  Time has flown. Why does this feel like yesterday? And why is my veil so gigantic-looking??... And even though the hubster surprised me with an iphone last week,  he still managed to come home with beautiful flowers and PFChangs. That was good enough for me. We ate dinner with the girls...so romantic! h a p p y   a n n i v e r s a r y    t o   u s.
