Packing Shmacking

Image
In our married life I have never packed boxes and moved. Our ONE move was facilitated by Boeing (aka they came and boxed up all our stuff, put it in storage for a few weeks, then delivered it all very nicely to our new house). I didn't know how awesome that was until I started to pack up our house of 7 1/2 years. Man...we have a lot of stuff! It was an arduous process, but along the way there were a few cameos I could not resist sharing... First, Finley and this curtain. Her attachment to this thing grew stronger as the move grew closer. And then I started to feel sad to deprive her of this. Her first night at the new house she would NOT settle down. I had set the curtain aside when leaving the old house (good thing because I would never have found it in a box). Once I gave it to her she snuggled right up. She's now carrying it everywhere...it's a 9-foot blanket. Next, is some wedding dress modeling. While packing up, the girls saw my wedding dress, and when I o...

Easter Sunday

Image
Can you believe this is our best "girls" shot from Easter? Well, it is.  Here is a better one, but from my phone because, of course, my battery died: Besides the lack of what I consider appropriate documentation of my girls in their cute outfits, we had a fantastic Easter. Saturday night we spent some timing prepping for the "real" meaning of Easter. We watched these amazing videos. Technology can do wonders for children and these videos are awesome. Easter morning brought frilly dresses, a few eggs to hunt around the house, a big feast after church with an adorably cute couple from our ward and their tiny baby, and a Sunday FHE reading scriptures from eggs (idea: here ).  My favorite parts? The candy, the gorgeous sunshine, and the food. And while there are no pics of my baking binge, I considered it my last big feast in the house before we moved and I went all out: homemade crescent rolls, honeybaked ham (thanks mom & dad!), mashed potatoes, roas...

The Parentals Visit

Image
April has been a super long month. So many changes and SO many busy busy days. For the sake of catch-up, I am taking a break from boxes this morning to update and document the fun of this month. Most of the pics are from my cell phone. It was difficult to get the camera out and most of the time it was out of battery...typical.  But back to the post at hand...my parents came to visit for Conference Weekend (the same weekend we had Finley's birthday). We always have a great time with them around!  Dad and Chris snuggling up on the couch with their iPads (for "notes").  On Monday we decorated Easter Eggs. Super fun tradition and I'm glad we got it done in the early part of the week! On Tuesday, while Paige was at school, we met my sister and her kiddos (on spring break) at the Les Gove Park in Auburn. This is a fantastic park and the sunshine was incredible. The kiddos loved this swing. And Carson even took Fin for a little whirl. He is always ...

Finley's One-Year Stats

Finley had her 12-month doctor check today. Two out of my three kids are battling colds, so the timing of the doctor visit was good. Both girls (Finn and Paige) have viruses. Finley hasn't had a fever since before the weekend, but the runny nose and cough is lingering. Paige's fever came on last night. She is rarely sick, so at 4pm yesterday when she asked to lay down I knew something was up. Today was a chill day for her.  Finley was weighed and measured...we have a healthy one-year old!! Such a blessing! Weight : 22 lbs. 13 oz . (75%) Height : 32"   (>100% -- well off the chart!) Head : 18" (~75%) One benefit of having multiple children is I have my own sample size when comparing weight and height! Here are my older girls' stats at 12 months: Paige : 19 lbs, 29" tall, 17.75" head Brynn : 20 lbs, 30" tall, 17" head It's no wonder Finley is wearing mostly 18-24 mos clothes. The doctor says she will be my tall chi...

Finley Turns One!

Image
It happened. I couldn't stop it. My sweet little Finley turned one. I can't believe a year has flown by! We spent some time this past Sunday to celebrate her big milestone. Look at ALL the Washington cousins! They came to have dinner and help Finley eat cake and open presents. They were so much fun! Poor Finn has been battling a cold for a few days and it was still lingering on Sunday when we had her little party (2 days after her actual birthday). Her nose was running like a faucet (still is) and coupled with a cough, she hasn't been the happiest camper. I was happy to get a few photos with a smile...  Is she not just so darling sitting there with her gifts?! This was precious...after opening a small book and "My Pal Violet" from all her cousins, she scooped up the book and crossed her legs to spend some time with it! Super cute.  These are the nesting dolls from my girls and me (and Chris). We didn't buy her much for her birthday, but ...
