Dennis & Janet - 60th Anniversary Party

Early in 2017 Chris' siblings started throwing around the idea of doing a surprise 40th Anniversary party for their parents. 2017 is also his mom's 60th birthday, so with some help from Dennis the wheels were set in motion and the planning began. It was tough to keep this big party a surprise but in the end, Janet was shocked and we are grateful to spoil her a bit! We had a wonderful party. All the efforts of time, money and planning really were worth it to see the smile on her face. My kids all deemed it one of the best parts of our summer! They loved the surprise!!  The girls and I got back from Pine Valley on Wednesday, spent Thursday making final preparations and then drove to Yakima Friday afternoon. I still had a few last minute things to put together and the kids loved having a night at Uncle Karl and Aunt Jana's. Chris was at Ensign Ranch at Girl's Camp Friday night, so he joined late afterwards..  The next morning we were at the church around ...

St George Visits & Beyond

We tend to stay pretty busy at my parent's when we visit, but we always have a few outings on the docket too. Here are some of those... A stop in Snow Canyon on our way to the Ivins Veteran's Home to see Great-Grandpa Snow. Such beauty here! Fishing on Baker Dam. A few of the kids rode the ATVs all the way down there. Adventure! We totally got skunked, but it's all about the experience, right?! It feels like a win simply to have a pole in each kids' hand and no one falling out of the boat. We will take it! (My dad is a champ) The Enterprise Rodeo  Finley refused to attempt the chicken run, but the other kids did and Brynn caught a chicken before an older boy snatched it from her. They are so brave! It was a beautiful summer night in Enterprise.  The kids all got on Rochelle's friend's horse.  We adventured to a new place this trip...Glitter Mountain.
