Fall Wrap-Up

Image
I started this wrap-up post thinking there would be all sorts of miscellaneous things to document in the Fall, but in actuality, there isn't very much. It's safe to say we spent the fall enjoying the new addition to our family and spent a lot of time at home - and I don't think I'd have it any other way. So, here is a record short post! We had some nice Fall days - Finley and I went on a scooter ride one of those afternoons. Meg started taking a bottle. Translation = mom needs freedom. Yay! We spent Veteran's Day at the Museum of Flight. The museum posts veterans around the museum that you can chat with - plus there's a band and performances that you can hear while you tour the main exhibit. We had a very enjoyable day here - it's been a few years since we've gone - and I'm grateful to help instill some respect and appreciation for our dear veterans. Meg was still fighting the bedtime routine. Most nights she fusses until about...

Thanksgiving in Puyallup

Image
We spent Thanksgiving with my two "local" sisters. Camille and Bryce were so kind to host the big crew. We had a yummy yummy spread and mass quantities of the good stuff.   The kids love their cousin time! We rarely see them when we are together. They just play and have fun!  Chris and I had very few food assignments...yay! Chris did help with the gravy. Must document his time in the kitchen...ha.   Meg was generally pretty good. She slept through dinner so that was nice!  Can you say pie? That's a lot of pie. Gwen loves her baby cousins. She is going to be an awesome big sis in two months!  Post-dinner lounging. Our family stayed overnight and the next morning my sisters and I did some Black Friday shopping. We love all the crazies that go shopping on Thanksgiving or after midnight because we have so few crowds when we head out just before 7 AM. Don't you want a deer head? Love these!  It w...

Family Pictures

Image
Our family portrait session was in late November after being rescheduled twice - downpour Seattle weather just doesn't work for pictures. I'm a firm believer in capturing the family each year, so we pressed on and my friend, Kali, continues to amaze us with her talents. Meg is just over two months old here, and while I generally do not prefer giant photo sessions 9-weeks postpartum, it's really so sweet to see these photos so short after Meg joined our family.   Brynn's gaze in this picture with Meg is so beautiful! Finley absolutely loved having her picture taken.  Meg was pretty stoic for most of the pictures. But I will take it, because I felt the session was a victory simply being that she was awake and not crying. That baby gaze is pretty darn sweet. Somebody made a comment when I was pregnant with Meg suggesting that Chris had done something bad to deserve four girls - my response was that girls are not a curse but an incred...
