Our Brynnie (18-months)

Image
Each of the girls deserve their own post, as both are doing interesting things lately...today is Brynn's turn in the spotlight. Brynn is two weeks away from the 18-month mark.  She has such a vibrant and energetic personality.  After a recent unruly day at church an onlooker described her as "spunky" and I can't think of a better word. Her new favorite thing:  clothes.   I don't know what this means 10-years down the road, but it's good she doesn't understand designer labels yet.  She  LOVES  my clean laundry piles and walks around putting as many layers on as possible.  It reminds me of this: "I'm Chandler. Could I be  wearing any more clothes?!" Here are a few recent shots... First: two pairs of bottoms, three shirts, and a pajama onesie (she's mad the door to Paige's room is closed) And this one from St. Patty's day.  She came downstairs like this (3 shirts)...and I finally got a picture of her smile.  It'...

Green Day

Image
I promised myself after completely dropping the ball last year that I would do better at instilling tradition and excitement for St. Patrick's Day.  I left it to the night before, but ended up getting it together.  It was a fun day.  Paige told Chris at the end of the day it was "the best day EVER!" A little leprechaun left a surprise in their shoes during the night.  New shirts and a little treat. Green pancakes, spinach smoothies for breakfast! I wish I glowed like this when I got straight out of bed. A treasure hunt! Our little leprechaun left a stash of coins and fun window clings.  Do you want to guess how long they lasted on the window?  It was a little less than 10 minutes. We ended up with our little neighbor friend, Tate, to celebrate the day.  He and Paige loved green lunch! And together took a slew of self-portraits.  This one is adorable: Brynn enjoyed the coloring pages and crayons left on the table b...

March Snow!

Image
And just when I was feeling a tinge of sadness for our lack of snow this past winter....BAM...it came. I'm glad I threw the kids' into their snow clothes on (and when I saw "throw", I'm really saying, "painstakingly"...why do snow clothes take sooo long to get on!).  Paige mostly sat on her stomach and ate the snow...my neighbor girls (very prissy) kept saying, "Why is she doing that?! Eww, gross."  Brynn, upon finding herself outside tried to run away.   And now that I look back on the pictures I'm left wondering why I felt the need to bundle them...the snow was obviously minimal and I should have just dealt with wet clothes.  They were only out there 10 minutes...geez...

Vancouver Olympics - Part Two

Image
This was the sightseeing trip.  I had a temporary moment of insanity and decided to take the girls...by myself!  Chris had a day-trip for work in the Land of the North, so we tagged along.  He dropped us at the train station and off we went! First Stop: Live City and the Coca Cola Tent We enjoyed a family pic with the torch (photographer was awesome, eh?), free soda, a polar bear video game, a warm place to cozy up for a bit, and learned a slew of environmental facts about how Coke is saving the polar bears (you know I looooved that!). Outside the Coca-Cola tent: Next up...a LONG walk towards Robson Square We got creative with the stroller...I debated long and hard about even bringing the stroller and then went back and forth about which one to use (oh the debacles of a mother).  I ended up with my medium stroller and it worked great.  Especially for this: At Robson Square we took in the ice show with the Olympic mascots (Miga, Quatchi, and Su...
