January Happenings

Image
The whirlwind of January included... Finley starting dance. She's in a tap/ballet combo class. Her buns in a leo and tights is one of my favorite things (I'm her mom and I'm allowed to think that!). I love when the girls have really good days together. This was one of them and Brynn had a sleepover in Paige's room for the night. Paige's door is constantly flooded with notes and messages. Loved this one after I checked in on her for the night. Meg on a particularly rough afternoon results in being strapped in the ergo so I can get stuff done! We went out to visit Auntie Kaelin to help her prep for the arrival of her baby girl. Meg snuggled up right away and went to sleep. And four days later, little Evelyn burst on the scene (literally!). We got to meet her the following week. She has such a sweet temperament and we are so happy for the McClure family! I posted about our weekend in Vancouver (previous post) - and sweet Baby Reed being b...

Meg at 4 Months

Image
I missed Meg's 3-month mark for photos and update, but we're doing the best we can around here and instead she gets a special 4-month update! :) The sun finally came out today and despite the chaos of life I called a timeout and rushed outside to snap a few pics. Her outfit was perfect because you can't tell her shirt has been spit up on about a half dozen times already today. Weight:  14 lbs 5 oz (50%) Height:  25.75 inches (92%) Head:  16 inches She fell off her weight curve, but not enough that the doc is worried and he told me I could wait a few more months to do solid foods. Wahoo! I just looked back on pictures and we were totally giving Paige and Brynn food at this point. Ugh - we were anxious, but now I'm putting it off as long as possible! Drool...always... She doesn't smile at me through the camera...I have to peek my head out to the side so she can see my eyes before I capture a real smile. It's amazing these photos turned out bec...

Weekend in Vancouver & Portland

Image
In mid-January we made a trip down to Vancouver/Portland for the weekend. We had a few things on the list to do... First we drove straight to Wilsonville to meet baby Cooper (Matt and Dani's newest little boy). We enjoyed a quiet afternoon for the kids to play together and catch up (I didn't take any pictures!). We went back to Bryce and Becca's house to stay overnight and we got to meet their new puppy, EV! She is so so darling! My kids hyped her up and enjoyed her puppy energy! And Meg got to try out the saucer for the first time! Saturday we all geared up (literally) for the BYU vs. Univ of Portland basketball game. Uncle Bryce got some Meg snuggle time. The kids had a blast at the game. It was a frustrating loss. Ugh. Chris had been so super sick the week leading up to this trip (pink eye that forced his eye to swell shut, and strep throat symptoms, etc.). He was supposed to be at a work retreat and ended up bailing on that after 24 hours and wa...

New Years Festivities

Image
Looking back on the holidays I realized that my very pregnant sister, Camille, hosted both Thanksgiving and New Years Eve. Sorry, Mill...I really sucked in doing my part this year - I vow to do better next year! Camille hosted a great low-key night - she's amazing. We ordered in Chinese take out, the kids played upstairs...we rarely saw them! We also had chocolate fondue and the adults played Ticket to Ride. All the kids made it to midnight...with ease. Especially this one...she avoids sleep like the plague.  But once it hit midnight, they started to fade a bit. Finley went first. At about 12:03 she was done. Clearly...   Each of the girls filled out an All About Me sheet for 2015.  And the last available day of winter break we finally did the one activity Brynn was begging to do the ENTIRE break: ice skating. We had attempted to go to our local outdoor Snoqualmie rink, but the weather was always pouring when we wanted to go. So ...
