Spring Break - Downtown Seattle

Image
Another day during Spring Break we ventured downtown. We don't get there too often, but it's nice to experience the touristy things...and visit Dad who is there every day! We saw him at the office and he took us to lunch at the Pig Iron Grill. Yum! Afterwards we left him at the office and headed up north to the waterfront. The girls have never been on The Great Wheel. It's a little scary in some ways, but the girls loved it!  It was a little grey in Seattle that day. We timed the break in the rain perfectly, however. Gum Wall!  We saw the pig, the fish throwers, ate some fresh mini donuts and bought some flowers. Every time I drive downtown solo I give myself major props. It's so stressful parking my big rig with the limited parking and tiny garages, and the traffic is always hectic. But I did it and we drove home as it started to downpour. Such a fun day downtown with my favorite girls!

Spring Break - Tulip Festival

Image
Looking at the forecast, my friend, Julie and I picked our Spring Break day to venture up to the Tulip Festival in Mt. Vernon. It's a long trek and a full-day commitment and every year it is completely worth it. This year was a little difficult because evidently the entire city of Seattle decided to spend their Spring Break day here and it was super crowded. It took us almost an hour just to get off the freeway and to the first field. Ugh. Frustration! But we persevered and had a wonderful time! You may notice more pics of Finley...she is my captive subject and always gets more time in front of the camera.   Paige always has a bag full of stuff and today she was sketching flowers (with a pen...ha!). I love the quirky things she does.  I took the chance to switch Finley's clothes and take her 4-year pictures in the fields. It was worth it (see previous post). The rest of the gang was patient and running around while I snapped away at her. My older kids...

Finley At Age Four

Image
We came home from California the night before Finley's birthday. It took me another week before I got a chance to take some 4-year portraits. During Spring Break and our trip to the tulip festival (post to come) I changed her into a cute dress and tried to get some good shots. She is growing so fast and especially lately is just a BIG girl and so tall! She's so grown up, with lots to say and share and I'm glad I got to capture some of her endearing personality. Finley's four-year stats continue her tall trend... Height: 42.5" (95%) Weight: 39 lbs (78%) She loves to hold her dress like a princess...always up and down stairs and often just because. Things about Finley at age FOUR (my rather lengthy list): Craves her independence and can do so much on her own. Lately she is making her own toast (with butter and cinn/sugar), sorting her own laundry, and is really good at unloading the dishwasher and cleaning her room (when the moo...

Easter 2015

Image
Easter fun...my girls in their pretty Easter outfits!  Saturday was a fun-filled day that included a neighborhood egg hunt and then a lunch gathering/birthday celebration/Easter egg hunt with our Dalley cousins at our house. This translated to an insane amount of candy for my kids but an exciting and fun day with people we love. Tannerwood's First Annual Egg Hunt was amazing! So grateful to my neighbor, Angie, who organized it and to the many volunteers that helped! All I did was drop off some filled eggs...that was about all I could muster this year.  Paige and Carys. I am so grateful these girls have each other!  Finley was diving into the candy ASAP, of course, but left the chocolate for her sisters!  Easter Egg hunt with cousins in the backyard!  Later that Saturday night we squeezed in our egg-dying.  Brynn took it slow and steady with her allotment of eggs. She learned that if she ...
