Summer Recap

Image
Each summer we make a bucket list of fun things to accomplish. The kids come up with a lot of the ideas and Chris and I throw a few on there. Overall we had a FANTASTIC summer and packed in the fun. Here is a quick recap of our day-to-day activities...all pictures on the go from my phone. The weather here was abnormally warm for extended periods of time so it felt like we spent extra time at the water with friends and cousins. Lake Wilderness was a favorite spot to meet my sisters. The lake was closed later in the summer for bacteria problems, so we met at Vasa Park.  Vasa Park fun! The younger girls got to have a sleepover at the Warnings. Lucky girls!! (It was so weird only have Paige at home that night). The Jarvis cousins made a little trip up to our house before the Hendricks reunion at the beach. The kids loved reconnecting. Mariner's Game Fun - we went with our friend's, the Morgans.  Brynn was most excited for the Mariner's game - she ...

Swimming & Baking

I have a big summer recap post coming with more of our every day summer fun, but I needed to document these two big events of the summer. First is swim lessons. Finley's first official lessons and she made amazing progress. We spent a lot of time in the water throughout the entire summer and all of the water exposure does good things for the girls.  Finley was most always happy and smiling and splashing around! She was afraid of water in her eyes at the beginning of the summer and now dunks her whole head in the water. Proud of her! Brynn was the furthest away and hard to document. She moved up a class and continues to be awesome at the back float. She loves the water! Paige learned the basics of diving and is just working on her swim strokes. She still likes to doggy paddle...but I'm sure that will fade as she continues in her lessons.  Notice Paige's eyes in this picture below? She is staring at me from under the water. I have a lot of pics catching...

Camping in Yelm

Our final camping trip of the summer was not our typical kind of camping trip. We love camping with two of my old BYU roommates and their families: Steph & Steve and Jenni & Travis. When we started planning, we realized that Steph would have a tiny little baby and she was a little apprehensive about a big camping trip outdoors. After some thought we realized that Steph's house is actually the perfect place to camp - they live on five private and woodsy acres of land, they have access to beautiful private lake, and we could take advantage of a fridge, fully functional kitchen, and normal bathrooms...what's not to love?!  Here is our whole crew: My three girls, Steph's four boys and sweet baby Elizabeth, and Jenni's three boys. Oh we love this crew of kids!! Jenni and her family didn't arrive until the afternoon of our second day there. We spent the morning borrowing some kayaks and enjoying the lake. The kids loved it and were surprisingly coordinate...
