Our First Stitches

Image
PaigeL4 had a mishap Thursday early morning...3:45AM.  She fell out of bed and into her nightstand or her bedframe (we're still not sure). I had just gone to bed (yes, I'm a late nighter, but this was out of the ordinary).  I finally laid in bed at 3:30 and still couldn't sleep. I think Heavenly Father wanted me to be awake and hear the crash. I was at her side just as she realized she was bleeding EVERYWHERE and the first cry left her lips. Chris, our Superhero, had her in the car within 15 minutes...I stayed home to carpet clean and wait. He's much better at needles and that sort of thing. The hospital said she was the best pediatric patient ever!  Her temperament is very easy going and with daddy by her side, she is usually just fine.   (Note: As I was writing this post, my little P was at my side and insisted I spell her name correctly above.)

Ramblings, a Confession, and a Milestone

Yes -- I know -- still no Disney pics. I haven't even started editing...what's my problem?! I don't know... Today was Chris' birthday and we had a Mariner's party for him. When he got home from work the table was decorated, dinner almost in the oven, and the girls were...quiet...and...missing. Chris assumed they were hiding in their usual spots, but I informed him that they were in their rooms. In trouble. I told him his birthday present was that I did NOT strangle both girls that afternoon. Don't think less of me. Especially after you learn our topic in church yesterday was on  patience and I completely and utterly failed in that respect today...not even 24 hours later. After Chris "talked" with the girls, he brought them downstairs, all was forgotten (thank goodness for forgiving children) and the party began! Kids love parties. Even if it's not their own. I think that only lasts for a little while before they start to wish they were...

We're Back!

From our heavenly vacation.  Disney knows how to entertain! We had a fabulous time!  I'm sorting through 350+ photos and waiting for the return of my camera with another 50 (camera was lost and then found yesterday...yay for good, honest people). Here's proof we were gone... If you were to see my house, you'd see proof we are home...it's a disaster!

Swim Update (again)

Image
Don't ask me why I feel the need to continue to post updates on Paige's swim. I just do. She had been out of swim since October, so it was a great refresher, especially since she lost a lot of skill over that time period. Here she is on her last day of this session. It's safety training day where they talk a lot, swim with life jackets, and then go down the slide! Her teacher is awesome. We love her. We are crossing our fingers our community can keep our pool from closing...we've so enjoyed the benefits of a nice, cheap, local pool! Here is the slide evidence. She loved it! She had a great session. Making excellent progress.  We will be putting it all to good use when we leave in two days for this: And this is Brynn...just a regular day after swim lessons doing what she does with clothes - trying to wear them. That is Paige's swimsuit inside-out...the girl cracks me... And, apparently, the new Blogger editor doesn't allow videos yet...grrr...guess tho...

Cath and Kris

K  W   C 05.01.2010 Sweet little Catherine is now a married woman and we loved being part of her and Kris' special day. I was without the husband who was at his annual Golf Your Guts Out  weekend. I had my awesome SIL instead.  I'm afraid I gave her an unhealty dose of birth control...Brynn was on a kick.   Here is Brynn at the temple...she was super mad.  And I was inside for most of the time, so poor Dani had to manage.   Oh, and here at the reception...Super mad.  At least she was out of the Ergo for a bit... Despite Brynn's troubles, we enjoyed visiting and catching up and seeing my as-close-as-you-can-get-without-really-being-a-sister, Catherine, sealed in the temple for time and all eternity. Forgive my flash in the window. I love this fondant-free cake! There was a third one to the right that didn't make it in the shot.  Yum! They are a beautiful couple. I danced with my sweetheart on our wedding day on that very same deck, i...

A quick trip...

Image
We made a 24-hour quick trip to Yakima to see this guy... Cousin Kelly....headed off on a mission.  We heard him speak.  He was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!  He is one of the goofiest guys we know and he had the congregation laughing during his whole talk.  We love him.  Kelly is technically Chris' cousin, but I've seen this adorable kid grow up and head off to college, and now on a mission.  We are proud of him.  We feel attached to him.  My girls do too...even if it's taken a few years to get him to actually hold one of my babies.  I think we've broken him in a little bit, which has helped him prepare for Uncle-hood. GOOD LUCK, KELLY!!!  Preach the good word.  You will be a great missionary! Time at Grandma's is never uneventful.   Cookie-time! Swings! And this is what I get when I ask her to "pose"... Yah...maybe she's inherited some goofiness from Kelly!
