Summer Fun in June

Image
It's weird when the calendar flips to July...June seems to drag on and on until school gets out (mid-June) and then poof the month is gone! We hit it hard after school let out, but I didn't want to miss out on documenting a few fun things during the month: On our summer bucket list this year we want to explore some new parks. We hit Carmichael Park in Snoqualmie one day while running another errand up there. We saw a deer and her fawn. So sweet. Kids love a new jungle gym! Paige and I also participated in our Stake's Activity Day Camp. It is a wonderful two days of packed fun that really makes these girls feel special and unique. The theme this year was "Ye are the Light of the World". It was a great theme that got the girls thinking about the impact they can have on those around them for good. Paige took her neighbor friend, Skylar, and had a blast with her other church friends. It was fun watching her! They dipped and made candles. This is Paige...

Baby Fever & Quick Trip to Vancouver

Image
We have had A LOT of friends and family having babies the past few months. After our latest nephew, Cade, was born, I decided we needed to make the trek to Vancouver/Portland to see a few of these babies...so literally, the second I got my kids showered from the messy party (see previous post) we were headed to Vancouver...we loved staying with Bryce and Becca. First stop in the morning was to Auntie Kaelin's house to see Cole and Lucas. Kaelin had been in/out of the hospital and we brought dinner and wanted to see the boys. We were glad she has finally started feeling better and wasn't overwhelmed by our crew. Then we whipped across town to see my high school friend, Jordan's, newest baby boy, Walker. He was 4 months when we met him, but it was great to finally snuggle him. He is so ...

Paige Finishes School - Summer Begins!

Image
The day finally came! Summer arrived! The girls were thrilled, and in typical Seattle fashion, the day was a bit grey and chilly. The final week of school is filled with lots of fun and excitement. I can only do so much at the school as a parent volunteer, but I do like helping at Field Day. Paige got an awesome butterfly at the face-painting station. This was the day I said goodbye to her teacher, Mrs. Haggerty, who has completely restored my faith that AMAZING teachers still exist. She has done wonders for Paige this year: pushed her academically, made her feel valued and important, and became her friend. I treasured my days once a month to be in her classroom and see her awe of the children...which is the core of a good teacher: one that sees her students as amazing and wonderful. I was teary saying goodbye. We will miss her soooo much.  The weekend before school got out, I took Paige and her friend Carys to the school carnival. They had a blast. Here is Paige w...
