Christmas Dressy - take 2

Image
On New Year's Eve I had all healthy girls and we gave the Christmas tree photo a second chance. Meg also got a little shoot. She is pretty dang irresistible. I want to take her picture all day long.  (Seconds after this pic, Meg slammed her head on the corner of the toy cabinet we keep in the family room. Just a little dose of real life for posterity's sake.)

Our White Christmas

Around noon when all the presents were opened, Brynn was out the door. She was so anxious to get outside. As much as I wanted to snuggle up on the couch for a nap with the fire, I had to "mom up" and bundle up for the sake of family togetherness...it was Christmas Day after all!  We had a blast...   This was after an epic family snowball showdown. Paige says she won, but we all know dad won (because I let him. ;)).  Back inside we prepped dinner and helped pack up Grandma and Grandpa. We had a yummy prime rib dinner before they drove off. The rest of the evening was pure family bliss: games, legos, food overload, Christmas movies with the fire on in our jammies. It's simply the best.    Thank you, Costco, for the Creme Brulee goodness for dessert. I tried to simplify our meal and this was an excellent decision. It was a splendid and peaceful Christmas. It's sad when it's over!

Christmas Morning Fun

Image
Christmas morning brought fresh snow (next post) and Santa's deliveries! (Family gifts under the other tree)   Youngest to oldest coming down the stairs  She was so thrilled about receiving clothes!!! She insisted on putting them on immediately.  These two love twinning.  I managed a photo book for each girl this Christmas and I'm inching closer to being up-to-date.  They love them. They all stop and peruse. It's my favorite. Slime kit - she made some RIGHT AWAY.  Anita...for practicing hairstyles. Her giggling was from a bad dad pun. She quickly commandeered this blanket she gifted me for Christmas.  So fun to have Grandma and Grandpa with us. Instagram swag from Bryce and Becca! These were taken a few days later before toys started working their way upstairs (some already had)...  Meg's favorite gift: Tsum Tsum and Paw Patrol figures.  Finley favorite gift: Baby Bj...

A Christmas Eve Sunday

Image
(Typing one-handed so blog updates are getting shorter, 3/19/18) It felt so wonderful having our Sabbath on Christmas Eve - setting the tone and helping us keep the Savior ahead of Santa.  Fin crashed the night before with a fever and it was still raging in the morning. Sweet Grandpa offered to stay home and take care of her while the rest of us attended Sacrament Meeting. By the time we arrived home, Finley was awake and doing decent enough for me to capture our Christmas Sunday photo then promptly went back to bed. Meg was desperate for her bed too (obviously...).  It is what it is...  Paige asked her Grandma to sing in the choir with her. She was kind to oblige. They did a wonderful job.  This puzzle was so fun to do with G&G Apken over the weekend. We got some good puzzle time today!  We invited Daryl and Deb Schofield for dinner along with the Summers family. We had a lovely ham dinner all together, decorated cookies for Santa and a...
