Paige - 14th Birthday Celebration

Image
14th birthday celebration for this girl!!  It was an early morning but we made her homemade waffles and sent her off to school on her birthday. I brought her Mod Pizza for lunch (her fave) and candy necklaces to pass out to her friends. That night we enjoyed a Nothing Bundt Cake filled with chocolate chocolate...her favorite. She had lots of phone calls, gifts and love over the miles.  She had a small party with friends beginning with a scavenger hunt at the local outlet mall. These girls were cracking me up running all over the place, giggling and laughing. They came back to the house for pizza and a homemade Nothing Bundt Cake. They played Wii Just Dance and the candy game and then a challenge of "who can stay in the dark shed with the spiders the longest." Carys and Lena came out winners on that one. We love this girl and loved celebrating her turning 14!! Each year I think it's impossible that I have a child that old...it means that Chris and I keep getting older. Yik...

Brynn & Paige Birthday Photos

These two were so fun to photograph together. The (mostly) cooperated. Brynn was giggly and silly and running around and chatting our ears off and Paige was mostly just humoring her mom and putting up with a mini glam shoot. I can't believe Brynn is 11. She is finishing out Primary and headed to Young Womens in January. She is rocking the 5th grade and just returned from overnight away camp. She has recently been plagued with some health issues and we are grateful for a Pediatric Gastro doc that helped us get it all straightened out. After two years of issues, she was diagnosed with CVS (Chronic Vomiting Syndrome) caused by abdominal migraines and it has been fixed with a simple pill she can take on the evenings she has an episode. We are so grateful for modern medicine!! She has a new lease on life and we hope many better nights of sleep ahead.  Besides being her cheerful, helpful, happy self, we are just so proud of her in her academics and athletics. She is self-motivated...

Brynn Turns Eleven

Brynn lucked out with no school on her birthday due to Columbus Day. She woke up to her new bike and loads of presents! She had a day of fun, including a sister bike ride arranged by Paige. They rode around town free-wheeling and independent to get ice cream at McDonald's, treats at QFC and spent time at the pump track.  She wanted to bake and decorate her own cake. She opted for a chocolate multi-layer cake with chocolate buttercream and fresh strawberries. It was delicious. Her favorite spaghetti for dinner...she looked so cute in her new overalls from Grandma Dalley. She got a special surprise visit from Cousin Mary that evening too! The Saturday before Brynn's birthday we surprised her with a one-hour pro-belay session at The Stone Gardens. They LOVED it and surprised us with their agility and courage. Even Meg was happy to scale all the way up the big wall!
