Meg's Birthday Celebration

Image
On Meg's birthday we arranged for four friends to come over for a bike parade and cake. Simple parties are my new gig and this one was awesome. Meg had recently been watching "Best Cake Wins" on BYUtv and had been designing her birthday cake for weeks. I was able to talk her down from a 9-layer tiered cake to a four-layered, one-tier cake. And she obliged. She wanted a unicorn cake, so I got down to business and made a game plan. It was fun to make this cake...getting my creative juices flowing... Paige made her bike parade poster and the girls were my helpers during the party. They were each paired up with one of the guests to decorate their bikes. We had lots of crepe paper, balloons and wheel decor for the kids to choose. Skylar on his awesome scooter bike! Rhett Emily And Emma Once everyone was decorated we went for two laps around the green park out front. So so grateful it stopped raining so we could go for a spin! Meg...

Meg's 4-Year Portraits

This little sweetheart is turning four. FOUR!!! She was too cute during this photo shoot. We found a spot with a bit of cover from the rain and she loved modeling and posing for me. So much silliness and giggles. She loved getting her hair curled and dressed in her new dress. She loves all things frilly and this was a special occasion for her.  Things we love about Meg at age 4: After moving into her queen bed and deciding it wasn't as cozy as she'd like, she's gone to building her pillow fort each night. She uses her shams and decor pillows to build up a bed that is perpendicular across, then carefully places all of her favorite animals (around 7-8 of them) in the perfect spot, then covers them with her favorite "butterfly blankie". After we've read Meg a story and said prayers and tucked her in, she reads all of her animals a bedtime story. She...

Back to School

The day came... First out the door is Paige. She is the big fish in the little pond. She was a W.E.B. Leader and spent the morning touring new 6th graders around the school. She started zero hour jazz choir the next day...which starts at 6:45 AM. She is a dedicated student and with some really stellar teachers she is setting herself up for an awesome year.  Brynn is another big fish in the little pond starting 5th grade this year. She has Mr. McHenry and is excited for a year in the portables. She started patrol the first full week of school and is involved with Kindergarten Buddies and lunchroom duty. Finley started 3rd grade with Mrs. Bradburn. We hear amazing things about this teacher! Finley is the child that was saying for weeks prior to this day, "I can't wait for school to start! I LOVE school!" She was a super happy camper this morning.  Sister best friends with sisters three houses down.  Finley was so excited to see Kristin...
