Post-Christmas Festivities

Image
My last Christmas post, I swear (almost caught up!). After Christmas we enjoyed some nice down time: sleeping in, watching movies, staying up late, eating yummy food, and gathering with family. These are all pictures from my phone, but worth documenting. Brynn and Grandma worked on her puzzle. Brynn is our puzzle-lover and got a 200-piecer for Christmas. The girls spent many hours playing in the living room with their new Christmas gifts. Lots of "grocery store" playing and phone answering. Great imaginative play. My mom and I spent a lot of time just doing this: sitting on the couch, watching movies and HGTV. Football often takes precedence in this house, so we had to steal away the TV whenever we could.  I also got some mileage out of my new stir crazy (awesome Christmas gift from Bryce and Becca). We consumed a good amount of kettle corn...I'm addicted. On the Saturday after Christmas, we gathered with the Pettingills and the Dalleys in Puyallup. I...

Christmas Day

Christmas morning finally arrived! My girls were so excited to come downstairs! Making them wait was torture, but we had to get the lights on, sticky buns in the oven, music on and a few pics taken. Then when we said, "go!" they leisurely made their way downstairs. Slow and steady observing Santa's surprises.  Santa even left a box of snow fresh from the North Pole, awesome!  Finley's favorite gifts: Peppermint twist marshmallows, fruit snacks and her Minnie Mouse vacuum (from Santa).  Brynn was excited for more clothes for her Bitty Baby and a cradle (she called it a "bitty baby holder"). Brynn worked tirelessly in the weeks leading up to Christmas to hand-make cards and pictures for everyone. She had a huge pile for me. I am one lucky mommy! Paige was excited for her salon chair. She loves doing hair with her AG doll. She also really enjoyed her new walkie talkies. She spent endless amount of time playing with them that day a...

Christmas Eve Festivities

Image
Christmas Eve was a fun gathering at our house with my sister's family and my parents. We enjoyed having the kiddos together to play. After our traditional Christmas Eve breakfast out we came home to party... First up, painting ornaments. The "babies" sure enjoyed this! My mom working on her own painting project. Rochelle and I just watched her work. ;) These two snuck up straight away to my bedroom to play with their AG dolls uninterrupted. Next was our 2nd annual marshmallow snowball fight courtesy of our shelf elf, Wallen. The kids set up "forts" and at the beginning it's a lot of back and forth throwing, but after a while the adults come in and it's mayhem. Running around the downstairs pelting each other at full force - it's so fun! My mom took a marshmallow to the eyeball, but that was our only injury! I love finding marshmallows all the way through the beginning of January. After traditional Chinese take out for di...
