Huntington Beach With the Jarvis Fam

Image
After a few days in Disneyland we drove out to Chris' sister's house in Huntington Beach to hang out for two days. The weather was a little on the chilly side when we got there (chilly as in low 70's), so we opted out of suits and towels when we went down to the beach...which was dangerous, because evidently, the kids didn't care what temperature it was outside, they were ready to dive in the water fully clothed!  We enjoyed a fun stroll on the pier. It was so gorgeous! Paige and Grant are good buddies. And then we went down to the sand. Paige got in a little bit of trouble and I found her pouting on one side of this cement column... I caught a little smile through her tears. But not in this one... All the cousins! Finley, Kaylee, Brynn, Emma, Grant and Paige. Cousin Grant is a super sport with all these girls around! This picture sums up Finley quite well right now. Attitude. Every once in a while Chris grabs the camera fr...

Disneyland - Final Day

Image
Meeting Elsa, Anna and Our Final "To Do"s (Finley picked out her ears this trip...of course, she picked the sparkly ones. Pretty!) Our last day was the only day we officially "park hopped". Our main priority was to use our Magic Morning (entrance into the Magic Kingdom one hour early) to stake claim in the line for the meet and greet with Anna and Elsa. Evidently the rest of the world had the same idea. We had a hiccup getting into the park which put us a bit farther back in line, and it was about a 3.5 hour wait (plus 45 minutes until Elsa and Anna actually arrived). Translation = frustration. But we made it work. This was a MUST DO for my youngest kids, who like every girl under the age of 6, is absolutely fascinated by Frozen. Chris and I rotated standing in line, while the other took the kids on rides. The girls and I saw a few characters... The older girls rode the Matterhorn And we shopped for souvenirs. This Disney trip we gave our kids s...

Disneyland - Day Two

Image
Magic Kingdom with Cousins Chris' sister, Laurie, and her family live 15 minutes from Disneyland. They are season pass holders - we loved they could join us for a day! The cousins had a great time reconnecting. The Jarvis' were such great companions because they let us direct the flow and go where we wanted - not complaining one bit, even when we stopped for characters and photo ops. Thanks, guys!  We all rode Thunder Mountain a few times.  If it weren't for the noise, Fin would have LOVED this ride. I had to plug her ears for a lot of it. :) Uncle Steven, Kaylee, Brynn, me, Grant and Paige (Finley got rejected for height at the last possible second!) I pushed to have Fin re-measured after she was rejected...and she passed! So we all got to re-ride!  Thanks to a tip from my sister, Rochelle, we hit the Big Thunder Ranch. There was NO ONE there. Finley got to hang out with Jessie all by herself for about 10 whole minutes. It was too cute. A...
