Easter Sunday

Image
Easter Sunday was surprisingly sunny! It was still chilly, but after a really rainy week, we were thrilled for a chance to be outside. The morning started with the girls looking through their Easter baskets and hunting for treats around the house. The older girls are too fast and wild for me to catch on camera, so I mostly just snapped pics of Finley. Oh the excitement of the hunt!  The hunt begins...  They each consumed a large amount of candy that morning for breakfast.  Sometimes I just say "wow" after I ask Paige to pose for me and this is what I get. She was really excited about this new purse and shades. She declared she is now fully prepared for Disneyland. I'm just glad the Easter bunny helped her downsize to a more reasonably sized purse.  The Easter bunny brought this fun educational/quiet game. And the mean mom that I am, I forced the girls to take pictures before church. They looked darling. We enjoyed a wond...

Easter Festivities

Image
We have two major things that need to be done the week prior to Easter. The first is dying Easter eggs which came on Wednesday evening. Two dozen eggs that are so fun to decorate, but end up down the garbage disposal 10 days later (because no one really eats them...). She worked so hard getting this egg super pink. It was a big milestone for Fin that she did most everything by herself. Other than Chris standing by in case a cup was spilled and to pull them out of the cup sometimes, she did it all herself. She kept saying, "It's gonna be  awesome!" Our next must-do activity is sugar cookies. Paige had an extra friend coming over on Friday and with it being early release we designated that afternoon as cookie afternoon! Brynn and Finley helped make the dough before they got home, so we jumped right in to rolling and cutting out.  Then later it was time for decorating. They did a great job!  Finley didn't get a chance to decorate c...

Tulip Festival

Image
My sister, Camille, and I ventured up to Mt. Vernon for the Tulip Festival this April. The forecast was not good, but we pushed on and ended up having a great time. Thank goodness it wasn't cold! And the rain even took a break for part of our time out in the fields. The kids LOVED the gooey mud and puddles. So fun. The view, was obviously, quite breathtaking. One side of the road had the wide open tulip fields and the other side had a manicured, landscape with an array of gorgeous tulips. So many varieties! My cute prego sister. She is 8 months pregnant and looks amazing. Hard to keep the bump dry, however.   Our whole crew (Paige was at home in school...next year I'm pulling her out for the day!) Thank goodness we went mid-week on a rainy day because the place was not crowded at all. The kids wandered the gardens and played and ran. Camille and I enjoyed the beauty...the kids enjoyed the freedom! Afterwards we had lunch at the A-mazing Cali...

Spring Break Fun

Image
Spring Break brought lots of fun little trips around the state. First stop, Grandma and Grandpa's house in Yakima. We lucked out with gorgeous weather. Grandma had a picnic all waiting at the house when we arrived Monday. The kids' favorite part about Grandma's is the swings. There are two big swings, which means the three girls were constantly fighting over "turns". Lots of "push me please!"  Grandma had a lot of crafts for the girls too! Bracelets, hair bows, headbands.  Paige had a special request to sit down with Great-Grandma Ann and get a cross-stitch lesson. She really enjoyed it! Thanks for being willing, Ann. Thanks, Grandma! We also got to see Uncle Karl and Aunt Jana who joined us Monday night for ice cream (no pics). Yay! The next day Great-Grandma came over. So great to see her too! We made it home Tuesday evening and then Wednesday we were up and headed south to the zoo. We met all my NW sisters there,...
