Mount Rainier Camping
Camping at Rainier has been on my Seattle Bucket List for 15 years...and we finally made it happen on a weekend in August with our dear friends, the Morgans. We camped at Ohanapecosh Campground and soaked in a number of hikes and the beauty of the National Park. Our campsite was within 100 yards of the Silver Falls Hike so we set out to check that one of our list on Friday afternoon after our arrival. It was pretty warm and the kids were hot. The thrill-seeking big kids made their way to the bottom of the falls. Meg was the cutest hiker...in rain boots. Saturday morning we were up early to drive to Paradise...we had to get there around 9AM to get a parking spot. We saw glimpses of the mountain on our drive up but when we arrived at the visitor's center the mountain was shrouded in clouds. Boo.
