Back-to-School To Dos...

Image
(...losing steam on the blog catch up...which means the captions and journaling are getting more brief...) Brynn first back-to-school date - Red Robin for dinner She is giggly, silly, so pumped for a new year with the teacher she so desperately wanted (Mr. Harting), in a class with one of her BFFs, excited to keep an eye on Finley, so smart, kind and responsible.  My most style-conscious daughter to date...she wanted booties so badly! Check. (Thank you Old Navy for having everything, so we only had to go to one store. Ha)  Finley up next. Easiest to please. She just wanted soda and candy and a dress to wear on Day 1. She is so ready to go full day, full of energy and can hardly stand still, recess lover, she was most excited to get back to chasing the boys, smart and such a successful reader already, Meg may miss her the most...they play together a lot more lately.  Paige was patient and waited the longest, so she milked it by requesting a more hi...

Fun with the Warnings

Image
In August we had two fun extended get-togethers with the Warnings. My sister's husband took a job transfer to Australia with his job at Amazon and the "go" decision came about pretty quickly. I took Graham, Claire and Gwen for a day and a half while my sis got her house ready for realtor staging photos. The weather wasn't too awesome, but it was just warm enough to head up to Rattlesnake. I just can't get enough of this niece of mine. She is just perfect, full of personality, spunk and attitude. I just love her!!! ...and so does Meg. Like really, she is always most anxious to see Gwen! Weather was so so...but we decided to have an indoor camping adventure. They got two nights in here. Hilarious to hear them go to sleep. And then just over a week later while my sis and her husband flew to Australia to get the lay of the land, I got a few days with Reed and Claire. Reed had some tricky spots, but I think it was because he was without his...

Family Photos - 2017

Image
This is the first year we've had pictures taken this early (we usually have them Sept/Oct) and I actually really liked it! We had beautiful sunshine and it wasn't too hard to squeeze in the session mid-week considering the kids were still on summer break. Thank you to Taylor at Eden & Me Photography for these beautiful captures (I am slowly getting these out to family...thanks for your patience!). We really wanted to capture some photos with our mountain. We love our home at the foot of Mt Si. This baby...love her wispy blonde hair. This was just before Chris and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary. 16 years! Time flies. The elk were all out in this field to the left of where we were. Such a beautiful sight, always. The kids were pretty patient until the end...and by then they were just DONE. And honestly, so was I. Family pics are exhausting...all the pre-planning and all the work the day of is a serious overload. But so glad to...

Finishing Out Summer - Part 2

Image
More summer fun... I always try and meet up with my BYU roommates at least once each summer - this year it was twice! We had a wonderful lunch in Maple Valley at Jenni's house when Annmarie was here on her way home from Japan back to the East Coast (yay to have her back in the states!). And the second time we went down to boat at Steph's house on Lake Lawrence. They are boat owners now (another reason we don't need a boat...haha). We had a wonderful time!  Meg and Elizabeth were all about Banjo's crate. Like seriously, they played in it for a super long time. #ParentWin  Slidewaters in Chelan Love this super clean and perfect amount of fun for my kids. The girls earned some independence this summer as long as they stayed buddied up. Finley rocked the lazy river and would just wave to me and Meg in the kiddie area each time she floated by. Love that girl. Meg rocked the smallest of slides all on her own. I sat at the bottom while she wo...
