Spring Break - Visit to Vancouver

Image
I was soooo anxious for spring break this year. We have been busy with piano, dance for both girls, and softball - and coupled with our church commitments and a dad that works long hours, I have been feeling a little overwhelmed with our schedule. We have some jam-packed weeks!  It worked out perfectly to skip away for a day to Vancouver to visit our newest cousin, Lucas Vincent McClure. Oh it feels so good to hold a newborn! He was delightful and my girls and I just ate him up. Aunt Dani and Kenna joined us too, so we all got to hang out. Thanks to Kaelin and Clayton for letting us visit. We completely destroyed the house, but I hope making dinner is some sort of consolation. :) All the PNW cousins (we missed our Jarvis family!): Finley, Kenna, Brynn, Cole, Paige and Lucas Brynnie wanted to hold him first. She needed her fill! And it caught me off guard when I realized how fascinated Finley was with the baby. I thought she'd be mad when I was holding the baby, but...

Brynn - Soccer Skills Class

Image
Brynn participated in an 8-week soccer skills class with some of her preschool friends. Our awesome friend Wendy put on the clinic...she will also be Brynn's preschool teacher this fall. We love Miss Wendy! It was great to get some exercise while the rains poured down outside. I finally brought my camera to the last class and got a few pics.  As you can tell, the equipment requirements are not restrictive - only a ball needed! Brynn loved to still wear her cute boots and was often in a skirt.  Getting her certificate of participation. And her whole class: Camden, Owen, Miss Wendy, Andrew, Avery, Brynn, Katie, Addy, and the two boys on the bottom...I totally forgot their names...we don't have preschool with them. Whoops! Afterwards we had a big picnic lunch with all the families. Brynn is anxious for real preschool this fall. She is definitely getting to the stage of needing more structured activities. It's funny to think that if her birthday wa...

Easter

Image
Easter was filled with cousins, candy and lots of fun this year! We were blessed with glorious weather. This was the same weekend as Fin's birthday, so it was a double-dose of sunshine. And we were grateful!   We were lucky to have my brother and his fam come for the weekend. They came to celebrate Fin's birthday and brought the most delicious Honeybaked Ham to share and enjoy on Easter together. We did a quick egg-dying session Friday night when they came.  And Finley had a ball dying eggs. She was wearing a bib before she yanked it off and went top-less. This girl has a mind of her own... Notice below I'm snapping pics while holding firmly to that cup of dye. This girl was wild. She cracks me up and we just try and take our queues from her. I would have never let my firstborn pick up the wet egg with their fingers...haha.   Saturday while the Pettingills were here for Fin's birthday party, we had a big cousin egg hunt, which was a first. We've nev...

Finley's Birthday Celebration

Image
Finley's 2nd birthday fell on the Saturday before Easter. This gave us a wonderful opportunity to spend the day together and to also have extended family join us for the fun. When Groupon had Seattle Aquarium tix in January, I decided that would be the perfect celebration for a 2-year old. She LOVED it! Fin stood in the front for the dive show and soaked up the diver's attention. It's pretty neat to have a conversation with a guy under water... The tide pools were her fave. She had no fears and really enjoyed touching the starfish and sea urchins.  Dad had to help her be gentle (only touch with ONE finger).  The only photo of me and her from the entire day.   We loved having my brother's family stay the weekend (Fin's bday and Easter). Their boys are so fun!  The cousin gang: Caden, Jett, Ty, Paige, Brynn and Finley  We lucked out with beautiful weather the entire weekend. Like almost- 70 degree weather. We were so lucky!! We ...
