September Misc.

Image
With school starting and our trip to Disneyland, September flew in a flash...but we had some fun adventures to remember this month. First was the gathering of church members at Safeco Field to hear from our beloved prophet, President Russell M. Nelson. We also heard from his wife and President Eyring. This was the largest gathering of Saints ever in Seattle with something like 49,000 people in attendance! It was a crazy day with two soccer games, finishing the BYU game with my bro and his fam (who came for the gathering and stayed through Sunday...we loved having them!) and Chris was super wrapped up in a funeral, so we were a little delayed in getting to the stadium when we should have, but thanks to a few friends from our ward, we had primo seats on the club level (soft seats!) right near the skybridge. These weren't the most ideal seats for viewing (although they were pretty good), but they were ideal for leaving. We were out of downtown in record time...10 minutes, picked up C...

Meg Turns Three!

Image
It seems like just yesterday Meg was born, but now she is THREE!! We celebrated her on a beautiful sunny Sunday.  We invited her McClure cousins over for dinner and cake and also her Auntie Kristin and Uncle Gary. We served her favorite: Teriyaki Chicken, rice, fruit and salad (thanks Kristin for the yummy Asian salad!). We loved having these cousins to play right before they were off to Colorado.  Meg and Evelyn got matching princess dolls from Kristin and Gary. These two are such cute friends. We love watching them when they are together! Meg was spoiled with loads of gifts, cards, and messages. Literally, it felt like we opened presents for quite a while! This musical Minnie bubble maker was a hit...thanks McClures! We love this darling little girl! She brings so much joy to our lives. She sees the magic in things that we are too old/mature to see. She loves her sisters, she loves her life, she loves being a bi...

Summit of Mount Si

Image
Chris and I have been talking about hiking to the top of Mount Si since we moved here and always delayed and delayed. At the beginning of this summer we decided this was the summer to do it. Coming back from Disney, Chris had that Friday off and we figured this was our last chance to give it a try.  We didn't start too early (9:30 ish) because the cloud cover was heavy. We hoped it would clear by the time we reached the summit and it did! We were literally in the clouds there at the top. The views were so so spectacular and worth every ounce of energy it took for the 3100 ft elevation gain.  We enjoyed some down time at the top soaking in these views and seeing our entire city below. We didn't tackle the haystack...maybe next time. ;) The hike down was more difficult than I thought it would be. My left knee really really struggled. It didn't take long before every step was pure agony. We were pretty slow going down...but we made it, event...
