Kauai: From the Sky

Image
The helicopter tour was a small point of disagreement between Chris and I. It was the #1 thing on my list for Kauai, but Chris was annoyed at the expense. It's definitely NOT cheap, but I heard it was incredible. I did a lot of research on reputable companies and decided on Jack Harter tours and would recommend them for sure! They are the only company that has the small helicopter with the doors off - that has the highest safety rating. It was an exhilarating experience. Sorry for all my landscape pictures...I just cannot get enough of the gorgeous Kauai landscape.  Afterwards, Chris agreed it was worth every penny. It was seriously in my Top 10 of coolest things we've done.  Chris was in the back behind the pilot. I was opposite him in the front on the other window (seating assignments based on weight and are assigned). I had the best view on the helicopter. Woo Hoo! That whole front left window shows my seat...a completely open view in front, underneath and to the rig...

Kauai Getaway

It's been three years since our extended getaway without our kids and it couldn't have come at a better time. Chris had just been sustained as the Bishop of our ward, and I had spent most of the previous two months in bed managing the crippling nausea and exhaustion of our miracle baby. I honestly felt like our house was a tornado of chaos, and our emotions had been exhausted. So when my mom came to town to save the day and we got on that plane, I was overcome with excitement at this time to reset and escape with Chris. We needed it! That day we were in Seattle at 8 AM and on the beach in Kauai by 3PM. It was awesome. We headed to the north side of the island early on in the week because it was dry...it rains more up there and the rest of the week was not looking good. Kauai is gorgeous. I was in constant awe at the beauty there. We found Tunnels Beach Queens Bath hike - this was amazing! And "hike" is an overstatement...it's more ...
