Winter Sports

Image
Winter sports in North Bend included Brynn's first year of community basketball, Paige in community basketball and soccer at the middle school. Great basketball seasons for both! We spent a lot of our Saturdays at Chief Kanim for these games. Finley and Meg are super fans in the stands!  And we are lucky to have Auntie Kristin and Uncle Gary to watch a game too! The middle school sports season is relatively short. The games are all played in a two week period and unfortunately, we had scheduled our Pine Valley/Grand Canyon extended mid-winter break vacation over half the games. We will know better for next year! Paige was still a trooper and pushed through the remaining games when we got back in town. Go Ravens!

Other Christmas Break Fun

Image
We try to make the best of our Christmas break and with a shorter time off this year (only 9 school days), we tried to strike a balance between family outings and down time to relax at home together. Chris didn't have much time off, so aside from Christmas and New Years we were rolling without him. Here are some pics of our Cmas break fun: My parents spent Christmas at my brother's house in Ridgefield and we met the gang halfway in Chehalis for Burgerville and roller skating. The kids absolutely love this and we have the rink almost completely to ourselves! (Thanks, Shell, for most of these pics!) Meg and cousin Ivy were accidental twins!  The "toddler" skates at the rink were a total score - four wheels that make it easy for kiddos to figure it out on their own. It didn't take Meg long! The next day we met the Pettingills and my parents for the movie Ferdinand in South Center and then the following day after that my parents joined us ...

New Year's Eve at Home

Image
Our plans for New Year's Eve changed a bit at the last minute, but in the end we really enjoyed being home together as a family on New Year's Eve! We had quite a list of fun to do: Shrek movie marathon, XBox family games (Star Wars), picnic dinner on the floor, midnight scones and two separate ring ins - one before Meg went to bed around 9:30 and then the rest of the crew at midnight.  The midnight crew!  And seconds after the clocked turned to 2018, this little lady lost a tooth! The girls filled out their "About Me" sheets for the year. Great memories!!
