The Hendricks Family Reunion

Image
Here is the man of the reunion...our faithful family leader, Grandpa Hendricks and his wife, Grandma Ann. Our bi-annual reunion took place in Yakima this year, which was pretty central for the Washington/Oregon folks. We are grateful for our geographic outliers who made the effort and sacrifice to come and we missed those that couldn't work it out this time (we will see you next time!). We had a busy few days...starting early Thursday morning the guys hit the golf course (hello, as per usual).  While the guys golfed, the ladies and kiddos hung out at Janet's house. Aunt Roxcy provided ooey, gooey fun.  We also invaded the neighbor's pool. Chris was initially not going to be able to join us until Friday, but he managed to juggle things around and come with us. He did, however, have to skip out on the afternoon's activities and hole up in a room for some conference calls. I would NOT have been able to manage the pool with my 3 kids alone, without some e...

The Jarvis' Visit & The Blue Angels

Image
We came home from Utah and had a few days to recover before Chris' sister, Laurie, and her two kiddos came to town. We haven't seen Kaylee and Grant since Christmas (I think) and it was fun to have them at our new house with plenty of room to play! We enjoyed our few short days with them. Kids in jammies, with blankies, watching the Olympics!  (Sidenote: I was glued to the TV during the Olympics...I get really into it.)  We visited the Snoqualmie Train Depot. I didn't want to fork out over $40 for me and my three kids to ride the train for an hour (hello, expensive!), so we watched it drive away and walked around...  And just down the road is Snoqualmie Falls, so we took a quick jaunt to catch a glimpse. It's still under construction, but I think only about 6 more months until we can walk down to the falls.  The kids loved getting misted. On Saturday, Chris was an awesome leader and we ventured out to see the Blue Angels. We've only...

Provo Stopover

Image
Chris was with us in Pine Valley for the first week, but flew home to get back to work. Translation - I had to drive the ~17 hours home myself. I decided to break the trip up, especially since my dear Louisiana friend, Courtney Richardson, was in Provo seeing her parents. So I drove from PV to Provo on the first day. It worked out well to also see my cousin, Courtney Larsen (yes, I was seeing 2 girls both named Courtney). Courtney Larsen (the cousin) had just had a new baby and we got to see Baby Ash fresh and newborn. Oh, man...this baby is c-u-t-e!  Paige loved him. She wants a brother. Badly. But she also wants an older brother. That, I cannot help her with.  Paige behind the camera...I was loving this tiny little dude.  Brynnie finally warmed up to him. It took her 1.5 hours, but she finally held him.  And Finley was running around Courtney's place attempting to destroy all things beautiful and expensive. She doesn't like it when I hold othe...
