Thanksgiving 2014

We are enjoying this new phase of life where we are staying home for the holidays and building traditions with our kids. It's a rite of passage and one that we are loving! Matt and Dani joined us for the weekend and then Janet and Dennis came Thursday afternoon until Friday afternoon. We had a great crew and had such a fun few days!  Thanksgiving morning included a fun family-friendly Turkey bowl. The weather was a bit on the balmy side as evidenced by my kids' shorts and short-sleeves. Chris had nose surgery the week before and I kept worrying the ball would smack him in the nose...but he assured me his skills were good enough and he certainly managed the ball well. The kids had a blast. Cutest quarterback! Because we were hosting, my kids each had to take on a responsibility for the big dinner. Brynn was in charge of making a banana cream pie. She made her crust from scratch too! Finley helped make my mom's famous rolls. All of the girls ended up help...

Fall Wrap-Up

Not to forget our day-to-day fun, here is a quick  long recap of our fun Fall activities documented on my phone: The beginning of the NFL season. Go Hawks! We had a lot of visitors, starting with my BFF from high school, Courtney. Our time was too short, but we crammed in a few fun things like hiking Rattlesnake Ridge... Just as we got to the top, the clouds parted and the fog lifted. Gorgeous view!  I'm trying to keep her heart in Washington.  We also visited Snoqualmie Falls.  She brought fun gifts for my girls and they just ate her up! They love "Auntie Courtney"  Even Jaime made the drive out to my house so we could have a fun lunch together. And then a few days later, my parents were in town and we had a few gatherings planned, including a Mariner's game with all the Seattle-area cousins.
